Silas pours a thick, tar-like black with no head. The aroma has notes of blackberries, hints of maple, and a decent hint of vanilla. The flavor is the same: a nice subtle sweetness from the blackberries, maple mixed in, and vanilla to finish. It has a great thick feel. Overall, it's a great sipper, with lots of amazing flavors that blend perfectly and yield an amazing beer.

6 oz bottle at forager. Black color no head.
A lot of char and a lot of molasses/raisins/figs. I wouldn’t guess this to be maple syrup and the vanilla is tough to find. But the barrels are nice. Very oaky. The black raspberry blends in with the raisin flavors. I like it and it’s a great old ale, just a bit surprised the adjuncts don’t show more. It could be a good thing.
The vanilla does show in the finish as it warms.
