This 750Ml gold-waxed bottle wax recently released by Forager at their traditional sky-high premium. Good thing their barrel program is so bloody good.

Silky black with few bubbles to spare & an aroma of two things; bourbon & sweet, sweet maple.

Unlucky Duck is a simpler avian than most Forager offerings. In a fair mimic of the nose there’s a crashing wave of maple & malt sweetness that dominates the beer; it’s like someone is water-boarding my gums with pure sugar with every sip. Backing bourbon is nearly overwhelmed. And that’s it. Certainly thick, but ain’t no way I could have more than one glass of this. Half the bomber might be pushing it.

Sixteenth review of a Forager brew & only the second that didn’t rate as ‘excellent’. Good, but too simple & too sweet by a several factors.
