Pour deep orange, quite clear, robust head, great lacing,
Smells were surprisingly faint. Grapefruit peel, a bit grassy, a bit of malty sugars.
The taste is more pronounced, Oranges, honey, rich malts. Candy sweetness on the tongue. Further sips awaken some banana, mango. All with a crisp backbone, and low carbonation that allowed the flavors to shines [big plus for me]. and a hefty finish complete with noticeable alcohol. Hefty enough to call this a sipper. Comples enough to not call it run of the mill. Real nice west coast DIPA.

Very clear deep gold, big white head, excellent retention, streaky lace.
Melon, mango, pineapple, guava, really just runs the gamut on tropical fruit aromas
Tastes like it smells upfront, then a bit of citrus, then some caramel and a bit of cereal grain that kinda makes it fall flat. Doesn't have the bitterness one expects from a WCIPA, which they list it as.
Medium-heavy bodied, lower carbonation, flabby.
Another instance of a NEIPA brewer changing yeast and tweaking grainbill on an NEIPA so that it will be clear and calling it a WCIPA. You gotta change water treatment and add some more bittering hops to satisfy an old head like me.

Pours a clear golden color. A stately looking frothy foam head retains well. There is lots of thick lacing.
In the nose, I’m picking up some classic West Coast IPA qualities. These include aromas of grapefruit, orange, grass and pine. I also detect notes of caramel, and a touch of melon, peach and pineapple.
Opens with thick and doughy biscuity and caramel malts, nearly boozy with sweet alcohol spices. Lots of resiny and piney hops flavors with a seemingly assertive bitterness that somewhat balances the sweetness. Fruity flavors of grapefruit rind, orange marmalade, lime, melon, pineapple and peach.
Full bodied overall; would have liked it to be a bit lighter. Finishes semi dry and a bit boozy. The mouthfeel is smooth, while the carbonation is moderate.
There were parts of this that I liked, however, it felt a bit on the boozy side and the hops bitterness was not quite enough to balance the sweetness.

Went to Commonwealth in July 2017 after my wife asked to go and get some Wapatoolie (she loved it and she's not a microbrew drinker) . Got a pour from the tap and enjoyed this IPA.

From a growler, pours a crystal clear light orange. Two fingers of off-white foam leaves spots and streaks of lacing. Smell is fresh pine needles with some dank and citrus. More earthiness appears as it warms. Taste is pine and earthy, peppery notes. Slight bready malts toward the finish. Mild bitterness. Feel is a little on the thin side for the ABV; a little more heft would take this beer to another level IMO. Good take on a pretty classic West Coast IPA.
