Don't think of this as a sour, but as an artisinal saison with tannic notes from the wine barrel aging. The aftertaste is a bit waxy from the barrel, but overall very enjoyable

Deep golden color with nice sparkly bubbles and thin film of head. Aroma is like wine and has a nice cool fruitiness to it. Taste is tannic, has some properties of a good Chardonnay and has hints of peach, grass, must and hay. Mouth feel is sparkling and the sourness of this beer is perfect, not overwhelming and maintains a great balance between the wine characteristics and a sour beer.

750 mL capped bottle, poured into a stemmed glass. Light golden color, light carbonation. White wine barrel aged, and sourness we relatively subtle. Another outstanding beer from my favorite local brewery.

Poured from a 750mL into a snifter, the beer is an opaque, hazy, peach-orange coloring, with a thin, bubbly, filmy, white head. Aromas of white grape must, berries, tart citrus, wood spice, and subtle grassy and herbal notes. Flavors are tart and sour forward, with a forward blend of white grape and lemon, followed by an herbal blend of grass, evergreen, and dill. Woody and earthy highlights here and there, with berry sweet ribbons towards the end of the palate. Dry and crisp on the tongue, with a sour and fruity aftertaste. The white wine characteristics impart some definite sweet and dry notes. The finish is crisp, dry, and slightly astringent, with a tart and sweet linger. Good beer.
