Cloyingly sweet, even more so on the nose. Couldn't do it

 

 

Poured from a bottle into a snifter, the beer is a very dark, deep, ruby tinted mahogany coloring, with a thin halo of off-white head, fed by a steady flow of carbonation bubbling. Aromas of blackberry sweetness, rich fig sweetness, wood and earthy highlights, and some medicinal phenols. Flavors are darkly sweet and rich forward, heavy on blackberries and red grape, followed by subtle sour notes, wood spice, earthy undertones, and a building acidity. Solid wine like characteristics at the end of the palate provide a dry feel on the otherwise big, slick body. The aftertaste is heavy on fruity notes, with the solid sourness, but also some developing flavors of tobacco and subtle smoky notes. The finish is slick, smooth, and with a subtle sour linger. Interesting beer.
