L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick consistency. There was a quarter inch of creamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: An enticing aroma of bourbon, malt, coffee, chocolate, and maple syrup.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of malt (present throughout), light hops a decent amount of maple syrup, lots of coffee (quite strong), a ton of dark chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Like its brethren Variant 4, this is a big, thick, complex flavor. It's much more coffee-centric than V04, but it still works. Lots of character and power. Tasty stuff.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth and creamy finish. Full-bodied.
O: A dynamic and well made stout. Drinkable.

The beer pours a really nice brown and foamy head that does not really dissipate. The beer itself is a delicious looking dark chocolate black with a nice texture to it.
The smell is pretty good. The sweet maple syrup note mixed with the vanilla bean notes dominate the smell while the bourbon and coffee come right underneath it very well. The Ghiraldi chocolate is present throughout as a sort of base for everything else.
The taste is fairly indulgent. The maple still mixes with the vanilla notes but the vanilla notes come out on top of the maple just a little bit and is fairly present. The dark chocolate comes out more along with the cocoa and the bourbon emerges in the finish.
The feel is good. It has as heavy body and fluffy carbonation and feeling to it with a bit of a sticky finish.
Overall, this is a pretty indulgent beer with a delicious mix of different notes worth getting.
