L: Poured from a tallboy can to a mug. Had a darker than average brown color and a mostly cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white, somewhat long-lasting head. Below average lacing.

S: A pretty good aroma of malt, dark fruit, bubblegum, and chocolate.

T: Tasted of a bit of the bubblegum flavor (a subtle little treat), a good amount of malt (the dominant ingredient), some mild dark fruit notes (fig, in particular), a hint of hops (mostly in the finish; very fleeting), and some milk chocolate (a nice addition to the style). This is a very well-crafted, focused, and subtle flavor. Pretty tasty.

F: A decent amount of carbonation with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This beer was much better than expected. A good entry to the style. Drinkable.

I have had a few of Commonwealth's IPAs and they do good work. Good to great but not world class. So I decided to give this little beauty a try and wow, they can also hit on other styles. This one was world class if you are a fan of this style. The aroma jumped and the taste was not far off from the aroma. I loved this bad boy and wish I had bought more than one.
