Appearance: A purplish pour with a one finger mauve head; a streak or two of lacing
Smell: Currants dominate, with oak, malt and a hint of vanilla; tart
Taste: Tart currant flavor forward, with some tropical fruit and bitter tones joining; oaky, through the middle, with a hint of vanilla in finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; somewhat puckery
Overall: Very creative with the flavor coming from a variety of angles

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a dark, purple-red color and a super cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, off white, somewhat long-lasting head. Sparse lacing.
S: An interesting, but odd, aroma of hops, berries, tropical fruit, malt, wood, and vanilla.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), light wood notes (oak, to be specific), a surprising amount of vanilla, a fair amount of hops (not too much), a little tropical fruit (pineapple), and some berry notes (blackcurrants). Like the aroma, this is an oddball flavor. The blackcurrants leave a slightly medicinal aftertaste, but it's still an interesting flavor.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a somewhat dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, but strangely likable. Worth a look.

A: pours a deep purplish red with a thick head.
S: rich currants, vanilla, and a tangy promise of the sour to come.
T: full currants with a raisiny+cranberry zinginess. Tart and acidic sour. Vanilla comes through as well on the finish. Oak is present throughout
M: Slick and juicy. The acid really provides a strong pucker. The alcohol is well hidden here and reads more like vanilla smells.
O: excellent beer. really fun to try, juicy and tart. Would buy again.
