No canned on date. Served in a nonick pint glass.
Hazy gold with 2-finger oatmeal colored frothy head with good retention and ample lacing.
Aroma is strange with strawberry jolly rancher, candied peach, and sugar coated dried pineapple with some herbal undertones.
Flavor is also very candy like and cloying sweet for a double IPA, even in the NEIPA style. Strawberry hard candy, cotton candy, peach ring, and pineapple juice with no offsetting bitterness.
Feel is soft and light-medium bodied with low carbonation and a glassy feel.
This is a subpar NEIPA DIPA effort. So sweet it borders on undrinkable given basically no malt contribution. Kalypso is a good reflection on why I don't go for Commonwealth beers.

A: Pours a milky murky pale to medium bright yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright orange + pale golden yellow + straw yellow + apricot colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of slightly juicy citrus/grapefruit + stone fruit/peach + citrus/grapefruit zest + citrus/lemon + tropical/mango + herbal hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/grapefruit + stone fruit/peach + citrus/grapefruit zest + citrus/lemon + tropical/mango + herbal hops which impart a minimal amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving lingering citrus hop flavors.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft mouthfeel. A really enjoyable combonation of hop flavors and aromas though not the same typical combination found in most other NEIPAs. Definitely worth grabbing.

L: Poured from a growler to a snifter glass. Had a yellow / brown color and a very cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Not much lacing to speak of.
S: A decent, but not brilliant, aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, pine, and tropical fruit.
T: Tasted of decent bit of citrus fruit (lemon, in particular), a hint of pine (quite fleeting), a ton of hops (the dominant ingredient here), light tropical fruit notes (mango, especially), and a little malt (mostly in the finish). This is a hop bomb if there ever was one. It kind of throws the flavor our of whack. Still, not a bad taste.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a vibrant finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Not my favorite Commonwealth IPA, but it has its good points. Worth a look.
