The beer pours a very bubbly dark brown brown that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves no trace. The beer itself is a deep and dark chocolate brown that strongly appears to be black. The texture has a thin appearance with a thick texture that looks like bourbon.
The smell is indulgent. The main notes that come straight out are strong vanilla and banana notes that are immediately followed by a slight alcohol note and a mix of bitter coffee and bittersweet Ghirardelli dark chocolate in the finish.
The taste is super indulgent. It starts off with strong vanilla and banana notes but the Ghrardelli dark chocolate comes in quickly with a slightly bitter coffee finish. The coffee is fairly light in all of this but manages to squeak through at the end. The bourbon is there and sweetens the chocolate a little bit. The chocolate also seems to linger quite a while after it's all been done.
The feel is pretty good. It has a heavy body but a smooth and milky feel to it. It leaves the mouth extremely dry in the finish.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer worth getting and having as a dessert given how indulgent it is.
