The beer pours a nice bubbly and very dark brown head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is an even darker dark brown that looks like a good pitch black. The texture is nice and looks like it has a bit of oil sheen to it.
The smell is certainly very sweet. The first notes that come up front are a mix of the bittersweet Ghiralldi dark chocolate and a sweet bourbon note. Alongside those notes from the beginning to the finish, there is a milky cream note with a light coconut note. There is a slight alcohol note in the finish as well as a maple syrup note to it.
The taste is pretty good. It's a delicious mix of notes in the smell but the order they come in is different. The maple syrup note comes out upfront with the praline, giving a sugary and creamy note mix with the chocolate.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body with a syrup and sticky texture to it. There's very little carbonation to it.
Overall, this was a pretty indulgent beer that is a great dessert beer. If this is you're kind of jam, then this one is a must have.
