Poured moderately hard from a tall can into a snifter glass, forming a finger or more of brown head that slowly faded to some lacing. Effectively black color. Smell is a bit milk stout like and chocolate. Taste is rich chocolate with a milk stout background and a hint of graham crackers at the end. Not too sweet or boozy tasting, despite the 13.5% ABV. Medium to thick bodied with a little bit of carbonation. Probably the best chocolate-only stout I've had, another awesome one from Commonwealth.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a deep, dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Not much lacing here.

S: A very nice aroma of chocolate, a nutty quality, malt, and caramel.

T: Tasted of a bit of the nutty quality (almonds, in particular), a whole lot of the advertised chocolate (the dominant ingredient by far), some malt notes (present throughout, though quite subtle), and a little bit of caramel (a sweet tinge). A solid and focused flavor. Not as sweet as you would imagine, but it's definitely there. Pretty tasty.

F: A below average amount of carbonation with a very smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A solid and likable flavor. Worth a try.
