Poured probably too hard from a tall can into a snifter glass, forming a ton of brown head that quickly faded to light lacing and eventually nothing. Dark, cola brown color. Smell is strong coconut with a bit of chocolate. Taste is very similar to the smell, with coconut front and center with some cocoa flavor at the end. Cocoa is more prominent as it warms. Minimal sweetness. Coconut flavor is good and somehow not overpowering, well balanced. Medium bodied with a gentle bite of carbonation. Good porter, probably one of the better ones with coconut.

L: Poured from a growler to a pint glass. Had a medium brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head, Above average lacing.
S: A decent, but not spectacular aroma of chocolate, malt, coconut, vanilla. and nuts.
T: Tasted of a good shot of malt (present throughout; a strong backbone), a tinge of vanilla (a sweet, if fleeting, presence), a nutty quality (pecans, in particular), a bit of coconut (more than expected), and some chocolate (a decent amount, but needed more). A pretty good, but not great flavor. Needed a bit more oomph.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, but it has its bright spots. Worth a try.
