The beer pours a nice brown and creamy head that dissipates at a moderate pace. The beer itself is an opaque dark chocolate black that looks nice. It has a nice syrup and melted milk chocolate like texture to it.
The smell is good. The main notes are the different kinds of liquors such as cognac, bourbon, light brandy, and a light whiskey. The bourbon note is the strongest of the four while the whiskey is pretty light and easily gets lost within the beer chocolate notes. The cognac comes out in the finish alongside the brandy and a sweet note from the alcohol that puts the finish on the smell. The chocolate note comes in two different varieties: regular milk chocolate and a bitter dark chocolate note. The milk chocolate note is the one that comes out the most but the dark chocolate emerges from it in the middle and becomes the dominant one in the finish.
The taste is absolutely delicious. It follows the smell to a certain extent when it comes to what notes appear. The major differences are which notes are the dominant ones. Regarding the liquor notes, the brandy comes out strong upfront and dissolves into the cognac while the bourbon and whiskey are hard to detect. The dark chocolate note is the stronger of the two chocolate notes. The milk chocolate note is still there but has been pushed to the edges.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body with very tiny carbonation to it. It is very smooth and dangerously drinkable.
Overall, this is a delicious beer worth getting. Just make sure to drink it in a proper glass to get the notes out more.
