The beer pours very little head that dissipates very quickly while the beer itself is a very dark chocolate black with an oily sheen to it. It looks pretty nice.
The smell is delicious. The cheesecake notes come out first and is immediately followed by the dark chocolate and hazelnut notes with a vanilla and bourbon finishing it with a slight alcohol note at the end.
The taste is more or less the same as the smell. The main difference is the hazelnut and cocoa nibs come out strongly upfront with a moderate vanilla note while the cheese cake comes in the finish. The bourbon note is there in the finish but it seems to be overtaken by the other notes.
The feel is pretty good. It has a heavy body and thick texture that feels like melted chocolate. There is a tiny bit of carbonation to it but it is barely noticeable. There is a little bit of heat in the finish.
Overall, yet another delicious and overindulgent variation of their winter seasonal and one worth getting despite the odd addition of cheesecake.
