Pours with fairly minimal tan head over a black base. The label and Commonwealth's website state double barreled, but without an explanation of what sorts. Bananas and chocolate pudding, with modest coconut highlights. Some boozy spice that counters the otherwise overwhelming sweetness. Definitely pastry, very flavorful as it warms, but not super cloying and over the top.

The beer pours a very light dark brown head that dissipates very quickly while the beer itself is a good looking dark chocolate dark brown that looks pretty nice. The body does seem a bit murky and thin though.
The smell is delicious. It has a strong mix of banana and almond notes followed a moderate bourbon and light vanilla. The coconut comes out in the finish along with the cocoa.
The taste is friggin delicious. It starts off with a fairly sweet banana and almond notes with a hint of alcohol before turning towards the bourbon and vanilla notes before finally finishing with the coconut and cocoa nibs.
The feel is good. It has a very silky and heavy body with tingling carbonation to it.
Overall, a delicious beer and worthy of being among the various variants that have cropped up in the past years. I look forward to these variants every year and glad the brewery is able to keep finding new ways to change the Marvoloso.
