The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a lightly hazed amber-gold color with a 1 1/2" frothy while head that recedes slowly, eventually leaving a thin cover of foam on the surface along with a ring around the glass and some nice lacing. As the head recedes it leaves scattered small patches and legs of lacing on the sides of the glass. Sipping leaves scattered patches and speckles of lacing, some of which cling to the sides of the glass rather than slide back down into the liquid.
The aroma includes some pine resin and grapefruit zest along with touches of herbal and grassy character. There also seems to be some sweet malt in the background.
Flavors are much as expected from the nose and include pine resin, grapefruit zest, and some faint herbal and grassy character. The malt backbone remains in the background but counterbalances the bitterness nicely.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation. The finish starts about midway through with the resin and grapefruit slowly fading to leave the playing field to slight bitterness and the malt sweetness which both fade slowly to dryness that leads easily to another sip.
This is a well made beer that I'm glad to see in this area as I'll enjoy finding and having more of this. While its not one of my top rated IPAs it is a keeper and certainly worth having again

Heavy Lifting pours a copper color, with a small, but long lasting and lacing head. Aroma is sweet, and has a nice floral finish. Flavor is strong, balanced, a little sweet, some earth notes, but a nice floral finish. Good body and feel. Overall, a very solid no frills IPA.

Appearance: Clear gold, good head.
Smell: Moderate citrus aroma.
Taste: West coast IPA, pretty good bitterness here. Lemon flavor in the hops.
Overall: Last one in the mix pack. Another solid but unremarkable beer from Boulevard. Like many breweries their standards are good but nothing too interesting, but hold on to your hat for some of their special releases.

Boulevard, bring this back! Better west coast IPA than is available from the left coast.

Very nicely-done, refreshing IPA. Dark golden color with some head and a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells nice, mainly citrus and pine hops. Tastes of nice tropical citrus zest, pine hops, malt and a little vanilla and caramel. Smooth mild mouthfeel and nice carbonation. Very sessionable and flavorful.
