I used to be something of a fixture at the Boulevard tours, as my brother and I would go pretty much every Saturday that we were free. They patiently let us come in each time, even though we seldom ever had a reservation.
On one such trip, we both noticed that they had a test brew on tap, an IPA, and we helped ourselves in the tasting period. It pours a yellowish copper color, with a generous amount of frothy head, oozing an aroma that promises hoppy goodness.
The hoppiness promised in the aroma is stronger than the hoppiness in the beer, but with a signature rounding of the flavor that occurs in all Boulevard beers, the final result is a very solid, very drinkable beer.
I hope Boulevard makes a permanent commitment to this beer, perhaps to replace their incumbent summer seasonal. I think it would be very successful.

On tap at the brewery as a limited or test beer.
I hope they find a way to keep it around.
They say the IPA has more than 3x the amount of hops as their Pale Ale (Which isn't a bad beer either).
Nice copper color and a great fruity aroma. Waves of sweetness are quickly rounded out by hop notes. The flavors linger briefly then disappear- making this quite drinkable.
They have a picture of the new $15 million brewery they are building to open in 2007, with 600,000 barrel capacity you will see and hear more about Boulevard.
