Got this in a Utah grocery store, which means it's ABV is a slightly lower 4%, though that likely doesn't make too big of a difference. The head and lacing left on the glass were really great for the ABV - it's rare to see a beer this low in ABV with this good of a head. The carbonation comes through in the taste maybe a bit too heavily though. The smell is quite strong, stronger than the taste, which, although not mild, is definitely not as potent as the smell. It's definitely got a good bit of hoppy bite to it to remind that it's an IPA, though it was 4 months past its best-by date, which means it may be a tad bit muted. I do wonder how long that means it's been sitting there. It still tasted pretty good though! Comes off as a respectable session IPA - it didn't blow me away, but it's very drinkable. Would like to try a fresher bottle.

Rocky, dish soap head with unbelievable retention. Murky golden color. Smell is muted...was hoping for more aromatic hops. Taste is pleasant...piney, grassy, spicy. Nice tang in the mouthfeel. Hint of caramel. Beautiful IPA, particularly for Utah's 4% grocery store requirement. Bottled, poured into glass mug.

Pours a hazy gold color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of slight piney hops, floral hops, hint of spicy hops, citrus hops, hint of wheat, and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of floral hops, slight grass, hint of spicy hops, slight piney hops, hint of earthy malt, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, a little too earthy/grassy, but still good body, appearance, and complexity.

-spiegelau ipa glass.

A: A feverish pitch of effervesce rages within the vessel, rising rapidly for a lively show. Glowing orange color, light haziness, with a dirty, soapy white head sitting atop at two fingers with a strong rate of retention.

S: Sweet orange and lemony fragrance, nice strength. Light fresh barley grains and wet pine.

T: Citrusy orange hops for flavor upfront are followed by a some wet pine and some caramel sweetness. Buttered grains proceeds a bitterness of citrus, dry orange peel, and some wet grassy hops. Very well toned, grainy with a lingering bitterness of dry flowery hops concludes things.

M: Sharp and feverish carbonation, provides a good snap on the tongue. The body is light, soft and buttery feel, with a good edgy factor on the tongues edges.

O: Nice hoppiness factor, and flavor at 4.2% , sharp and flavorful with a good bittering factor for what it is, a session ipa, rather ipa. Good causal drinker.

Light gold with a light haze. Nice, one-finger head. Scattered spots.

Crisp, piney to grapefruit hop nose.

Decent, middle-of-the-road iPA. It's a bit more carbonated than I like. Relatively dry with mildly bitter finish.

Drank straight from the bottle. Had a grapefruit flavor and a little taste of what I think was pine. Interesting profile with a smooth finish. Don't like too many IPAs but this is good and I would have it again.

A thanks to the ruler of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Long live the king! Poured from a 16 oz. can. Despite zero agitation, this beer came gushing out of the can, resulting in a golden color with a 2 inch head and a small mess on my leg. Smell is of grapefruit, light pine. Taste is grapefruit, some pine, more bitterness than I expected at this abv. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date 11-14-16.

APPEARANCE: pours a hazy, golden color with one-finger, off-white head, excellent retention, slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of bubbles remained, heavy lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.

SMELL: very faint to the nose, bread, grapefruit and an earthy note.

TASTE: initially sweet honey and bread then pine and a mild grapefruit citrus hop profile.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a decent session IPA, I really appreciate a lower ABV for my IPA's so I can enjoy more than one, I would buy this again and recommend to anyone who enjoys the style.

On a lustily hot day in July it is a tasty beverage. It must be Boulevard brewing companies update to their pop-up IPA. Overall it is 4.2% alcohol and 40.5 IBU's according to the bottle.can'tn the look as I drink it directly from the bottle. It has a very nice smell of fruity and a trace of pine but the aftertaste is a little bit week. But this is very typical of session IPAs. Overall in the session IPA class this is a good option. I would drink this again.

My neighbor bought a couple bottles down state and shared them. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with thin white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had hints of grapefruit and pine. The taste was nicely balanced for a session ipa. It was very easy to drink. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a great beer and worth a try.

this is quality ale, light and easy but fully flavored on the hop side of things. reminds me of go to from stone, pale blonde and super bitter for such a light offering. it think this is better in that it has some flavor too, citrus all the way, and even a soft pale malty base that is not entirely irrelevant. i think the session trend is dying out, but this serves to keep it on the radar for at least one more summer. light and airy head and golden body translate into a highly drinkable bone dry mega bitter brew that has refreshent value as long as its cold, but still ends up a little lighter than i like my hoppy beer to taste and feel, irrespective of the bitterness in it. the low alcohol is cool though, and for a beer this far south of 5% abv, i think its pretty substantial. nice in the kansas city heat, i feel like these guys do a good job brewing beers to satisfy in their local climactic conditions, and this is another fine example of that. too bitter to be as versatile with food as i like these to be, but its well done and the pint cans make a lot of sense...

Mostly clear yellow-gold with a slight haze. The aroma is of grapefruit peel, wet earth, and fruit. Interesting. The taste is more subtle than the aroma led on. The taste is balanced, if not just a bit dry. Fruit is notable through the finish, and the hop bitterness kicks in at the aftertaste. Nice and very drinkable.

Straw in color with a small head. Smells of citrus and malt. Flavors of citrus and pine that ends with a slight bitter flavor I can't quite put my finger on. Crisp and smooth with a lower avb makes this an easy beer to have a couple of. Would have this again.

Pours a sparkling straw color with a one finger white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits. Taste follows with citrus, tropical fruits, pine, resin, earth, and a mild spice and bitterness on the back end. Mouthfeel is actually pretty nice for a session ipa, light but can definitely tell the beer has some substance to it. Overall, this is a very well done session ipa, with full flavor, and enough backbone and body to be easy drinking, yet satisfying. A definite session brew.

Poured into a Boulevard tulip glass.

Look: Very clear light golden body with lots of rising bubbles to help maintain a frothy, foamy white head. Light patches of lacing remain on the glass.

Aroma: Both piney and tropical with notes of mango and pineapple, a touch of spicy hops on the back side.

Taste: A little bit thinned out with a solid pine resin body. Tropical fruits are hidden in this with a watery, citric peel finish.

Mouthfeel: Thin, dry.

Overall: Underwhelmed compared to other session IPAs, mostly because of the watered down taste.

Pours an effervescent gold with 3 fingers of eggshell colored head. Hazes a little bit, great lacing and very good head retention

S: Grassyness, tangerine & a little grapefruit

T: Follows the nose, some dryness as well up front. A little lemongrass as this warms, more dryness and pomelo. Finishes dry with grapefruit and pomelo and just a little grainyness

MF: Light body, fairly subdued carbonation, okay balance

Easy to drink, but terribly exciting, could drink it in a pinch

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear golden-amber color with a small white head. It smelled of citrus fruits and of caramel malt. Nice orange flavor with toasted caramel sweetness, too. Light piney bite.
