I was in the midst of New Coup de Boule(vard) Sunday (Week 663) when I ran out of steam at about the same time as I was running out of time as I was coming up on my bedtime. I want to try & finish up this adventure in the near future, continuing with this one.

From the bottle: "12 IBUs".

I Pop!ped the cap & conducted a nice, slow, gentle pour into the awaiting glass. Once it was sufficiently decanted, I utilized a vigorous in-glass swirl to raise two-plus fingers of foamy, deep-tan/light-brown head with decent retention. Color was Very Dark Brown to Black/Opaque(SRM = > 34, < 44) with NE-quality clarity & mahogany highlights. Nose had a milk chocolate sweetness and a light smokiness. Mouthfeel was on the thin side, not watery, but not much beyond it. The taste was quite sweet, very chocolaty, but it lacked depth. It was kind of a one-trick pony in that there just did not seem to be anything beyond the unrelenting chocolaty sweetness. Finish was sweet, of course. This was a bit of a swing & a miss, IMHO. It lacked the sort of depth or Ooomph! that would have made it memorable.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts, lactose, light chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, some lactose, hints of sugar. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent and easy drinking beer.

Picked up a single from Happy Valley BevMo 3-18-17 for $2.49. Bottled on 09/26/16 best by 23FEB2017 but stored in the beer fridge since purchase.

Beer pour black with a nice tan head that has some great hand time.

Nose is light roasted malts with a hint of lactose.

Taste is well balanced between the roastiness, the sugar, and the hops to result in a nice sipping beer.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall a nice representation of the style, definitely worthy of a shot.

Pours a black color. One inch head of an off-tan color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, chocolate, slight roasted malt, lactose, hint of spicy hops, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, chocolate, slight roasted malt, hint of pale malt, hint of lactose, and a hint of spicy hops. Overall, decent appearance, good aroma, body, and blend.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium creamy light tan head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is roasted chocolate malt with some sweet lactose.

The flavor is sweet lactose and roast chocolate malts with some coffee in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice milk stout. I like the roast and coffee to balance the sweetness.

This brew, from a mixed twelve pack that my wife picked up, this brew is dark nearly black, with a dark brown-reddish highlight. The head is medium, off-white. The aroma is roasty, malty, and full of chocolate notes. The taste has chocolate, a bit of grain, and some malty notes. Full and creamy...spot on for a milk stout. Light in carbonation and full in body. Worth a try.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date 1-6-17.

APPEARANCE: pours a dark, brown color with two-fingers tan head that quickly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, there is some lacing on the glass, lighter carbonation.

SMELL: brown sugar and burnt toast, chocolate.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet brown sugar then roasted malt and chocolate.

PALATE: medium body and lighter carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a good stout, it's not my favorite style and I would not normally seek it out but I enjoyed trying this as part of a sampler pack, Boulevard is a fine brewer and I look forward to buying more sampler packs from them in the future.
