Pours black with a half finger of khaki foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is toasty, nutty, earthy, caramely malts with a dry spritze of tequila with a little dry heat behind. Whiskey sweeps in and adds a little oak, char and a pinch of heat. Toffee, raisins and molasses pile on to add a little sweetness. Flavor profile is dry tequila with toffee, molasses, caramel and raisins just beyond. As it opens up, it tastes like drunken raisin bread. Whiskey is present in the form of oak and heat, but is subtle. Sweetness is dominate, with tequila and whiskey striving to create a little balance towards the finish. Mouth feel is thick, nearing on chewy. It has a heavy, nappy grainy texture. Overall, big and mighty with a lot of presence. Aroma carries more balance while the flavor profile is a little more sweet with a more dramatic showing from the liquor.
