Pours a dark brown with a little light passing through the edges. Head is two fingers of dense off-white foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is perplexing when considering the look, but it's all apart of the beer's name. It hits notes of lemon, grassy, passionfruit and papaya with a little roasty dryness on the back. Surprisingly citrus forward with a little dank, pine hop at the back. Flavor profile is a mishmash of notes, hitting passionfruit, papaya, mango, lemon, and resiny with glimpses of biscuity, bready, roasty malts. It has a lightly dry finish which just keeps notes from lingering on the tongue. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a little prickly effervescence. Overall, intriguing mash-up within this brut IPA. The roastiness adds an intriguing dimension, although it doesn't come far forward in either the aroma or the flavor. The true oddity is just the mingboggly dark appearance that greets the nose with sweet citrus upon first whiff.

Draft.
