S: Like sticking your nose into a tangerine. Just amazing citrus.

T: Deep citrus, orange, lemon. Good malt back.

Single-Wide IPA dosed with Tank 7's yeast strain and a healthy helping of Sorachi Ace hops, referred to in some corners as Trailer 7.

A: The IPA is amber, a golden color hazed over by the ale's temperature. I expected the haze to disappear as the ale came to room temperature but it didn't. A 3 finger head slowly oozed over the sides of the glass before I slurped some if it up.

S: The nose is loaded with Sorachi Ace and pepper. The lemon pepper aromas are a little funky thanks to the saison yeast. There isn't much in the way of regular Single Wide hops, although they likely couldn't make it through the sorachi/saison combo.

T: The sorachi ace is powerful, adding lemon to a rather bitter ale. The hoppiness before the sorachi ace seems citrusy but that is hard to verify. The saison yeast adds an anisey, musty flavor that contrasts with the hops. That contrast is the beauty of the ale, refreshing and sharp while zesty and bitter. This is excellent experimentation, combining elements of two strong ales with a twist. The sorachi ace is the prestige, making the entire ale work.

M: The mouthfeel throws a whole conglomerate of unusual flavors together with excellent results. The sorachi ace, as you'd expect, fires on all cylinders. The Tank 7 yeast strain is musty, funky with an peppery flavor. The Single-Wide, seemingly lost in the shuffle, adds a firm hoppiness. A real treat to make my way through.

D: A stunning take on the IPA, with the sorachi ace providing the missing ingredient. This, paired with the Smokestack Series, has Boulevard near the top of my favorites list.
