Red Spectra has a thick, reddish-beige head and a translucent, rust-red appearance, with rather heavy lacing. The aroma is of mild hop resins and brown bread crust, with some tannic notes. The flavor is of those elements with some fruit and low bitterness. Red Spectra has a medium body and a dry finish.

Poured from a can. Pours a deep amber color with a good sized tan foamy head and lacing. Smells of an earthy malt, caramel and hints of citrus. Flavors of caramel, citrus and slight nuttiness. This kind of sound like it doesn't really go together but everything seems to come together well and makes for an enjoyable beer.

Boulevard Brewing Co. "Space Camper Red Spectra"
12 fl. oz. can coded "L071922 09:23 16DEC2022 D" and sampled on 22DEC2022
$1.99 @ Hy-Vee Omaha #1, Omaha, NE
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a mostly clear, reddish and brown body beneath a short head of off-white. The aroma is malty with a caramel edge, fruity with apple, and lightly piney. It's clean and welcoming. The flavor follows with more character. The malt is basically the same; lighly sweetish, grainy, softly caramelish with both golden caramel and darker reddish caramel, and a touch toasty. There's a bit more to the fruitiness than apple with some citrus, plum, and a bit of dark raisin. The citrus is probably coming from the hops, and the soft pine remains. A moderate bitterness balances it nicely and it finishes dry, citrusy, and lightly piney. In the mouth it's medium bodied on the lower end and gently crisp. The head didn't hold up all that well, nor did it leave behind a whole lot of lacing but it was better than average all around. As it stands I think this is a pretty nicely done American amber ale but what's this - the label reads "RED IPA"?!!! If that's the case then this beer is a disaster. It lacks both hop aroma and flavor as well as body and bitterness. Even as an American amber ale is on the lighter and softer side of things, and it's not even close as an IPA. I think that that tag might have just been added as IPAs sell. I'm not for that, but I understand it, and I'm not going to ding it because it's not really an IPA.

Pours an effervescent copper/orange with 2 fingers of beige colored head. Above average head retention, slightly better lacing
S: Cakey, piney
T: Follows the nose, some dryness & pine up front. More dryness as this beer warms, along with a little caramel & toastyness, plus pine. Finishes toasty with pine & a little dryness
MF: Medium body, subdued carbonation, good balance
A solid Red/Amber Ale, pretty drinkable

12oz can. Poured out a clear, amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Nice piney bitterness with toffee, caramel and some citrus.
