Copper colored with a hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of beige on top. The aroma is of sweet Belgian pale malt. I’m tasting sweet Belgian pale malt and crisp, clean Belgian yeast. The mouth is moderately carbonated, dry, and with a lighty sweaty gym sock presence.

This is a solid beer and one I hope they turn into a year-round offering. I got it in a sampler pack and hadn't seen it in my area before, and I'm very glad I found it. It's a lighter Belgian ale, so if you're looking for a heavier Belgian beer you'll want to go with their Bourbon Barrel Quad. But this one has plenty of flavor and is a slightly sweeter and maltier version of a witbier to my palate. Not many places do a Belgian Single, so let's see more of this, please.

Look: Somewhat cloudy orange with an off-white head.

Smell: Cereals, hops, yeast, floral notes.

Taste: Follows smell, though the spicy attributes come through more here. Some sort of woodsy notes. In the mouth it's more sweet and malty, whereas the aftertaste is more bitter spice and hops.

Feel: Medium body, normal, kind of "spicy" carbonation, leaves a somewhat dry mouthfeel.

Overall: Pretty solid brew!

Boulevard Brewing Co. "Belgian Abbey-Style Single"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle coded "PLEASE ENJOY BY: 19MAY2023 C L102122 12:41" and sampled on 25DEC2022
$15.45/Fall 2022 Adventure 12-pack @ Aldi #75, Omaha, NE

Notes via stream of consciousness: A short but creamy lid of white foam caps a hazy orange body. The aroma is spicy and clove-like over a bready malt base. The flavor follows adding in some fruity notes of apple, pear, plum, and raisin. The malt remains bready, a little toasty, sweetish, and gently caramelish. The bitterness is labeled at 25 IBUs and that's enough along with the yeasty spiciness to bring it to a dry and spicy conclusion. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. For a fairly basic beer of standard strength this packs a lot of flavor due to the yeast.

Poured from a 12 oz. brown bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, light fruits. Taste is the same as the aroma, some spices are present. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

I wish this was added permanently to their lineup. The smell is mellow, very sweet cereal grains. Tastes great. Caramel, fruity yeast, hops - in that order. Light, smooth and easy to drink, at 5.6% you can have a few

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, amber color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of bisuity malt, toffee, spices and floral notes. Sweet toffee, toasted malt and a nice Belgian spice kick.

Clear light amber color with a nice foamy white head that stays around and produces some nice lacing.
The aroma is light caramel malt with spicy yeast notes with some hints of raisins.
The taste is complex with sweet malt followed by raisins/plums and a spicy mix - cloves, nutmeg, ? There seems to be just a touch of floral hops in the finish along with the lingering yeast notes.
The body is medium, moderate carbonation, very smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether this is a tasty and enjoyable "little brother" to the usual Belgian dubbels, tripels, etc. If this is what the monks were drinking themselves, I don't feel too sorry for them, very nice.
Note: This is called a "single" but style listing would not allow that, so...
