I like it.
I don't have the sophisticated palate of most people in here (or the ability to pretend I do like the rest) but there's something in the finish I really enjoy.
I'm gonna guess it's the Chinook
Not that I know what Chinook tastes like but I think I remember reading that in the can.
Lol. It's a very decent beer.

Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s an inch of densely packed frothy khaki colored head on top. The aroma is of piney hops. Light, soapy lacing is present. I’m tasting piney hops and lightly smoky dark malt. The mouth is dry and lightly smoky.

Poured from a can. Very dark in color with a large frisky tan head and lacing. Smells of pine, malt and maybe a little roasted grain. Flavors of roasted grain, pine, hops and a little chocolate. Flavors work pretty well together.

12oz can. Poured out a dark, dark brown color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. it left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and toffee. Great roasted malt taste with coffee, chocolate, citrus and a piney bitterness.

Hmm. It poured a nice frothy beige head, which surprised me a little. I bought a single from a store where I bought a Lagunitas StereoHopic IPA Vol. 5 that was canned 06/22/22. I didn't finish it.
No date on this can. No nose to speak of. The flavor is roasty, but that's all I can say about it. The mouthfeel is too thin. It finishes as the sum of what I have written. A shame, I had been wanting to try this when I finally saw a single.

Pours an effervescent mahogany/ebony with one finger of tight, tan head. Nice lacing & average-ish head retention
S: Pine, roastyness, chocolate notes once warm
T: Follows, the nose, some Baker's Chocolate, a touch of brown bread as well up front. Dryness, Baker's Chocolate. Toastyness & pine as this beer warms up. Finishes dry, piney with a little toastyness & a little Baker's Chocolate
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, good balance for the style
A pretty serviceable take on the style, not quite elite, but worth a try

11/23/22 12 oz can from mix 6 from Washington Beer Store.
Black opaque. Foamy pour
Nose is stoney, and cold and herbal.
Taste is earthy, stoney, hoppy, and herbal. Roasty and pine.
Dry mouthfeel. Leah is starting to admit she likes black IPAs. ;)
