A Belgian-style ale that doubles down on orange peel, coriander and peppercorn with a soft touch of lavender and cardamom. The result is a beautiful, incredibly drinkable and delightfully spiced Double Wit.

This beer is a a bright gold color with a slight haze and a medium-sized white head, poured from a brown glass bottle. The aroma is of orange, banana, grass, and some wheat scents. The taste has a pleasant wheat twang, and a nice balance. You can tell that this has more heft and AVB than a typical wit, yet it doesn't feel heavy. The body is full, but it is quite drinkable. Spicy flavor in the foretaste and a warming in the finish. I thought this was very enjoyable.

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear, medium golden color with a large white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange citrus, Belgian spices, smooth coriander, and bubblegum. Bready, orange. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of orange citrus, smooth bread malts and Belgian spices. Sweet bread with a citrusy and mild funk off the end. Sweet finish. (4.25)

Feel: Medium to heavier body. Strong carbonation and yeast. Mildly sweet, smooth, and yeasty. (4.00)

Compared to Boulevard Tank 7 5/2024: Pours lighter, milder head. Milder aromas. More smooth bread and peppery orange citrus. Less clove, bubblegum, coriander and Belgian yeast. Less yeasty and smooth bready smooth.

Overall: I tried this for the first time side-by-side with Tank 7. They are actually quite similar. Probably the same yeast strain. This is slightly more peppery bready, orange smooth and less yeasty, spiced, and funked. Not quite as complex. (Rating: 4.10)

Serving: 12 oz bottle (“please enjoy by: 17JUN2024”) poured into a 14 oz Rastal Teku glass.

Appearance: Slightly hazy, pale golden yellow with a tall froth of white head and spare lace.

Smell: Aromas of wheat, orange zest, spice and Belgian yeast.

Taste: Balanced wheat, citrus, spice and Belgian yeast and deceptively subtle alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with lively carbonation.

Overall: Full, favorful but balanced and drinkable without betraying its ABV.

As much as I like Boulevard, this beer does not belong with the others. I am not a fan of lavender in anything that goes in the mouth. It is fine for fragrance and cleaning solution scents, but never in food or drink.

Just this small touch ruins the beer for my palate. Is it still drinkable for me?, yes, enjoyable?, no.

Those who do not have an aversion to americanized herbs de provence for example might like it.

Poured into a weizen glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a three finger white head that slowly dissipates to a thick cap with nice lacing. Aroma of wheat malt, clove and hints of banana and lemon. Flavor is wheat, clove, light orange and banana, and some biscuit. Nice wheat and fruit finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Not sure I've had an imperial wit before, and this one just edges out of the typical range. The flavor is classic, with the expected wheat and clove, but I think the extra ABV may bring out the otherwise light fruit notes, particularly in the finish. A little overcarbonated, but quite drinkable. Very nice finish. Oddly low haziness for the style, but tastes right. I'd like to see this again.

single bottle courtesy of my wife's boss; 21 ibu
12oz bottle poured into Bissell Brothers pint

P slightly hazy gold (just a touch darker than anticipated); 1-2f white head; a good amount of sediment
N soft-med strength classic wit nose- biscuity malt, fruity esters, yeast, and a touch of spice
T sweet fruitiness over lightly toasted biscuity wheat malt; banana, orange, and white grape; really tasty, and hearty/satisfying
Mf creamy med-full body w/ med-high to high carb that prickles tip of the tongue
O really nice flavorful and robust wit; enjoyed the fruity elements; exceeded my expectations- would definitely have again!

12 oz bottle enjoy by 16 Dec 2023 into a Becher glass.
L: SRM 3-4 Pours 1/2 hazed straw radiant yellow gold (darker in the center) with lively flowing steady carbonation that produces a very large cone-shaped white head, slowly recedes to a flat thick frothy head, has thick loose random lacing patterns.
S: Spicy, floral, a dash of wheat.
T: Citrus & zest, a hint of yeast, grains, distant banana, light honey, wheat, coriander, white pepper, cardamom, light lavender in the palate. It is fruity, gently sweet and is lightly rich.
F: Plush then its liveliness tones down a bit with warming. Semi-juicy medium to medium bodied feel with a medium length gently drying finish.
O: Just gorgeous overall. No trace of alcohol and its lighter body gives way to easy drinking status. Fruity, gently and masterfully spiced, well balanced. Hits all the marks on target. I want some more of this. It is excellent in its style.

This pours a golden straw with a tall and bright white head. The head lingers and then fades to a ring with prominent lacing. A snow globe of floating yeast adds to the visual feast.

The taste is sweet wheat and vaguely fruity spice. There was a “something” in the taste (and aroma) I was at pains to place. Then I remembered that lavender is in the mix. It rounds out the flavor and seems to grow more pronounced towards the bottom of my tulip glass. I am not sure, though, that I like it’s addition all that much.

Carbonation and mouthfeel are full. The ABV may come in lower than one would expect from a Double Witbier, but I think more alcohol warmth would detract.

I am not generally a Wit drinker, but I wanted to send my small consumer signal to Boulevard that there is a market for limited release beers other than there spate of barrel-aged sludge buckets. I was rewarded by a very enjoyable brew. I hope we will all be rewarded with more great limited releases from Boulevard.
