Pours a very, very dark brown with a clear, but super dark, transparency. Head is two fingers of khaki foam. Aroma is roasty, toasty, nutty, caramely, and bready malts, with some light sweetness out of dark fruits. Flavor profile mimics the nose, driving notes of roasty, toasty, nutty, and caramely malts. Some round sweetness at the back from dark fruits, but it's minor. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a soft, lightly silty, texture. Overall, a solid little number. Dark malts without the heft of filling beer or high ABV of (some) stouts.

Served in a 2023 AM membership glass from a 12oz bottle. Reviewed from notes.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy lace. It smelled of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and toffee. It tasted of roasted malt, caramel and coffee.
