12 oz bottle with a February 2026 BB date stamped on the label. Same vintage revisited in April 2026 with no need to alter my ratings.
Appearance. The reddish-brown body is too dark to be a Belgian Pale Ale. Belgian Strong Dark is a better classification although this is lighter than most such beers. A short, semi-durable off-white head tops the body.
The aroma and flavor also fit the Belgian Strong Dark class much better. It's lightly sweet - less sweet than expected - and finishes mildly bitter. Moderate hints of carrot cake mix nicely with conservative BBA effects.
Overall. Worth seeking out.

Medium pour resulted in a half inch of slight kacki head atop a very dark brown beer hazy but some ruby hue at the base of the glass. Smells sweet of sweet bread some jammy brandy and a good hint of wood. Taste is kind of mild a bit of cloying alcohol on the finish but mostly sherry wine a bit of bitter oak barrel and not as much sweetness as one would expect for a cake based beer. May not be just the hops giving bitterness it could also be a vegital funk from the carrots but again no real vanilla, toffee or marshmallow to balance the boozy assault. Body is surprisingly a bit medium to heavy but you know your drinking a big beer. Overall I am sad to say Boulevard usually always hit with the barrel beers but this one is a mess just boozy woody and bitter a shadow of the cake namesake. Just drink it to get drunk.

Amber hued with no head at all. The aroma is of carrot cake and alcohol. I’m tasting carrot cake, alcohol, and fruity Belgian yeast. The mouth is warm with alcohol, dry, and sticky.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, dark amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sheets of lace. It smelled of toffee, caramel, bourbon and vanilla. Sweet carrot cake taste with toffee, vanilla, oak and booziness.

The pour is copper colored. The taste is carrots, bourbon barrel, & vanilla. In addtion to, the 12% abv is well hidden & after a few sips the beer foam laces around my pint glass quite lovely. Oh well, it was interesting to try a carrot cake flavored beer. Cheers! A-

12oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours a clear brown color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that reduces to a ring
S- smells of cinnamon, light vanilla cream, clove, sweet cake & a hint of bourbon barrel
T- malty sweet notes of caramel and brown sugar up front, followed by light cinnamon and vanilla icing flavor. Mid-palate brings out some cake notes before the barrel emerges in the finish, adding bourbon and oak. Lingers of light spice and vanilla
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel that continues into a warming finish

Deep reddish copper color with a modest tan head and bits of lacing. The aroma is cake, cinnamon, bourbon.
The taste is carrot cake, complete with crème cheese icing, soaked in bourbon, sweet with oak and vanilla notes. The finish is dry with lingering bourbon and oak tannins, mild bitterness.
The body is full, moderate carbonation, smooth and very drinkable with a fairly well hidden ABV that begins to appear as it warms a bit with some nice added warmth. Altogether, this is a tasty and enjoyable after dinner dessert sipper, very nice.

"cakey", candy, chemical aftertaste, bourbon,
the typical pleasant Belgian style toffee and yeast taste is not there,
as a dessert beer, it is not very yummy.
this beer is ruined by the artificial chemicals. why the f* do you have to put chemicals into such a great beer????
