While I am marginally versed in Mexican craft beers, Colima strikes me as a leader. Colima's website is a bit cryptic given my limited Spanish (they could have an English translation button, particularly if they wanted to export to the world's largest beer market North of the Border.) Colima seems to brew thoughtfully for the kitchen with two gastro-pubs since 2014.
Colima has started a low-ABV line (Cero) that has Ambar and an IPA with more styles to come. Ambar paired very well with the dinner I had of eggplant with local spices.
I liked Ambar's Looks, inviting with a nice head on an amber bod. Smells are mostly malt and Tastes largely follow until they finish when a few more hops linger. For the massive U.S. market, those hops should enter earlier and stronger. Compared to the median NA style, Colima Cero is full-mouthed. I'd have this again with dinner, if I was driving.
