It appears my trip to Funk Factory in June 2019 was rife with all kinds of collaboration beers and guest taps. Some places do the business talk about community, and some places really live it. FF lives it. Props.

Pours an amber color. I guess when you mix like normal yellow beer with raspberries, this is the color that comes out. Firm 1" of off white head, kinda surprising, looks good. Mild aroma of raspberry, lemons and hops.

Taste leans on the sweeter side. A little surprised its on the sweeter side. I mean: hops, lemons and raspberries, these are generally dry and tart, not sweet. Perhaps some lactose went in here, but I really don't taste it as that component of the sweetness. Really wanted a drier body here. Damn, my score is gonna be way under other people's, but I didn't hate this beer or anything, it just went in a direction I didn't want it to. Somethin like a brut yeast or more of a west coast body might firm this one up to where my score would be a little closer. I would buy it, I know people who would dig this (as obviously every other rater did).

L: Hazy amber god with a light red tint under a 3" cap with good retention and a very fine bead.

S: Raspberry and lemon aromas lead supported by a light yeast character and light pie crust.

T: Milk shaky raspberry and pie crust with lemon and lemonade tart softened by a moderate dose of lactose and moderate malt flavors

F: Very creamy, very effervescent, medium body, medium plus carbonation.

O: The brewer achieves drinkability by achieving a balance between the various elements and not going over board on any element.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on May 3, 2019. Raspberry lemonade milkshake IPA collaboration with Drekker brewing. Fruity and creamy.

Appearance: poured a red fruit punch color with zero translucence. Could as well be juice just from looking at the color alone.

Smell: it has everything. Tart, funk, and sweet fruit juice. Very strong rhubarb presence that is almost heavily sweetened like a fruit custard desert. It does not disappoint.

Taste: note the sharp contrast of flavors yet they all come together as one. There’s tart fruit with notes of rhubarb and lemon, the tartness somehow eased down by the heavy sweetness. The fruity hops comes in gently with just trace bitterness, lending an earth note. Then there is the lactic sourness that doesn’t overwhelm everything else, almost kinda like a raspberry yogurt.

Mouthfeel: medium body. The lactose really gives a creamy mouthfeel.

Overall: a very intriguing beer when I picked it up. But wow, I’m glad to try this, this is solid!

I don't know what kind of sick reference this beer name is trying to make, but last I checked gonorrhea is no laughing matter. For shame. The Brewing Project is #cancelled.

The can bills this particular brew as a "sour milkshake IPA with raspberry and lemon puree." I appreciate the specificity, even if it seems like we're just throwing as much stuff into beer as possible nowadays. But, okay, let's calm down, no need to turn into an old man.

The pour is fine. Kind of hideous, but that's okay now. Looks like pressed juice and seltzer.

The aroma is very nice. The raspberries and lemons blotted everything out on the first sniff, but after a little bit some yeast complexities and light, fruity hops came to the fore.

Tastes very nice. The aggressiveness of the beer's appearance really gave the wrong impression. It's fruit and juice-forward, for sure. And I'm not trying to be mean, but the fruit profile is very reminiscent of the old Leinenkugel's berry weiss (a beer I enjoyed when I was young; there's no shame in that, you people can't get mad at me for admitting that while giving 4.5+ scores to alcoholic sodas). Anyhow, this is certainly a more advanced beer than berry weiss. The complexity is admirable, it's well balanced, and the finish is excellently chewy.
