12oz, canned on August 3rd 2023

On the pour, 1 finger of deep tan head formed on top of a deep and dark, slightly murky brown body. Head retention isn't fantastic and drops down to a very thin covering quickly.

Aroma is mild, but the beer is a bit colder than it should be. There are some sweet stonefruit notes as well as a subtle, herbal hop note, backed by a mellow sweetness.

Flavor follows the aroma, but brings a bit more full malty sweetness. The British yeast fruit notes are still present and balance the herbal hops nicely. This tastes pretty decent. There is a slight roasty, and maybe smokey note coming from the malts.

Feel is somehow thinner than I'd like, despite everything easing pointing toward a full armchair beer. It is full and malty, but not quite in a full blown scotch ale story of way. Finish is long, but it is surprisingly easy to drink.

Overall this is a decent beer, but not a mind-blowing scotch ale. I want a fuller malt experience, and the ABV is a tad low for the style.

Opaque medium brown with a modest tan head. Smells faintly of canned cherries. The flavor is malty but a bit thin, with a sharp note I don't like. Not as robust as I believe a Scotch ale should be, or as potent.

Look: Color is deep reddish amber. The head was perfect after the pour. Both bitterness and sweetness was balanced. Would definitely purchase again.

Lighter in color than I was expecting, but still a good mouthfill. Malty with the carmalized notes you expect, but not an overly sweet maltiness. Nice find out of galveston.

A bit of a light wee heavy. Very nice reddish amber with decent head and lacing. Nice sweet malty smell and taste. Maybe a bit of cherry cola. A little thin for a wee heavy. It was good with shepherd’s pie.

Look: Pours a beautiful dark amber; Smell: Nice floral; Taste: Sweet with a hint of bitter; Feel: Not up to my expectations for a Scottish Ale, i.e., watery; Overall: A drinkable beer but nothing close to the real thing, like Belhaven 90/~ Wee Heavy. I won't buy it again.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a 16 ounce tulip goblet. Poured a murky dark caramel color. Head vanished almost instantly. Very little discernible odor. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. The flavor is tart, and a bit sweet. Lacks the malty depth of a quality Wee Heavy. Nothing so bad as to make the beer undrinkable, but in my opinion it is not worth the $5.99 I paid for a 4-pack of it.

Transparent mahogany with zero head retention and no lacing whatsoever. Smells like malt extract and vegetables. Taste matches the smell. Lacks depth and comlextity. Mouthfeel is thin and dizzy. Terrible beer.
