Oktoberfest from Galveston Bay Brewing. Six-pack of 12 fl oz cans, picked up 06/11/25, at HEB, New Braunfels, TX. Reviewed 11/11/25, review 3625. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Can bottom stamped “CANNED ON 08/14/25.” Stored at home at 37 degrees F. Served at 42.8 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 45.5 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Pale Amber (SRM 9), hazy.
Body – Medium Amber (SRM 12), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Small (Maximum 0.8 cm, aggressive center pour). Off white, high density, fizzy, short retention, leaving neither crown nor cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3.5 – Very weak charred caramel malt, no hops, no alcohol (6.5% ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 3 – Begins with caramel malt, slightly sweet – ends the same. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Eventually, slight gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Watery: Soft but lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 3 Uncredited art work. Average Märzen, typical of the style. Being both headless and lacking lacing lowers the score.

Dark gold, light amber, slightly hazy.
Minimal white head, no retention.
Allergies prevent me from judging the smell.
Tastes of, crackers, dark bread crusts, slight hit of graham crackers, perfect bitterness on the backend. The abv is well hidden but definitely apparent.
For sure, not a sessionable Marzen, but very well made and tastes amazing. This would be great around a fire pit in 40 degree weather. Too bad it’s 91 degrees in Anahuac today.
