Fermented with yeast coming off Haverstraw Bay, this sour ale is done in the Brussels style. In our younger batches you’ll find a milder lactic sour note that will enhance with aging. Take this traditional ale anywhere you'd enjoy a white wine. Made in tribute to our little section of the Hudson Valley, it is always brewed with Tarrytown grown hops.

Pours a cloudy amber, nearly brown, color. A modest layer of head quickly dissipates.
Sour in the nose with notes of dark fruit, oak and lactic acidity. Aromas of red grape, apple, hay, funk and a hint of roast.
The taste is sour, assertive in its tartness, yet, not too bracing. Flavors of red grape, green apples, lemon, red wine vinegar, wheat bread and a hint of nutty malt.
Medium bodied with a dry finish. Mouthfeel is smooth with a gently assertive mouth puckering. The carbonation seems a bit low, however, I hear this is acceptable for some examples of the style.
Probably not a Gose, instead, more consistent with Flanders Red or Flanders Oud Bruin. Whatever it is, it’s delicious.

Nice looking sour beer poured into a tulip glass at Alamo Drafthouse. Looks can be deceiving however as the sour was over sour and the bitter was over bitter. From the nose through the finish this felt like a burnt beer as nothing came together in brewing synergy.
