real basic blonde ale here, although i suppose slightly darker than most, brassy toned rather than yellow, but still not much more grain character overall than is common in the style. clear with some shine, solid inch of lasting white head of tiny bubbles, looks nice, substantial for the style. the nose is somewhat muted to me, clean on the ferment, minerals, lightly metallic even but in an appealing way, faint honey sweetness, dry herbal almost noble type hops, smells like a beer. the flavor is crackery, almost german, less sweet than it smells, kind of dusty even, but not lacking freshness, its in the grain, some terroir to it, way more expressive than the nose, tea-like hops on the back end, bready yeast that almost gives it a lager character, quite flavorful and tasty, good balance and proportions, and well refined. a little twang to it as it sits, a light copper note, but solid overall. i love the hockey theme these guys are rolling with, the beers have been good, and this is a drinker with a little more to it than many in this space. hearty.
