relatively basic and simplistic pale ale here, but a tasty one. citra, simcoe, and mosaic, some crystal malt color and structure in the mix, good balance, moderate bitterness, a tad old school to me, but it comes together well. light rusty orange to bronze colored, patchy white head froths up and falls back pretty fast, just off clear, a little lazy looking in the glass after a minute. the aroma is pine and lemon, pretty bold to me up front, mosaic behind the citra and simcoe to me, less of that pineapple thing, clean too, not green or overdone, less dry hoppy to me, more late kettle, plenty of richer malt balance, some minerality to this but short of being metallic or anything. the flavor is pretty much the same, a little oxidation unfortunately, some freshness still in the hop profile though, grapefruit, mowed lawn, and spruce. i like the fuller grain profile, the strength and the body, but i definitely wish for more carbonation, this feels a bit flat. good flavor overall, low brow blue collar sort of pale ale, enjoyed with my father in law who also dug it. aside from the carbonation factor lacking, this is solid pale ale, familiar but good.
