Blood Brothers Brewing brings back a cherished flavour of your childhood, but without the sticky fingers, curfews, or 7pm bedtimes! We reverse engineered the classic cola recipe of yore but removed the extra sugar and other nasty bits that seem unhealthy to quaff as an adult. This exacting recipe was fermented on sweet cherries and conditioned on a top secret cola emulsion of our design, all in a low ABV session sour experiment years in the creation.
Being an adult is finally fun again, with Autopop!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Packaged February 15/25. My tenth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and ninth for 2025. With Sundae the cat...

Novelty stuff, but made well-enough. Not overly sweet, but with a notable cherry cola flavour. Beery in the manner of a radler. Moderate head, dark burgundy colour. Cherry cola nose. Low alcohol. Good enough summer stuff.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase. Canned February 9, 2023.

Appearance - Pink / purple in color with a small pink head that is poured and fizzles out in seconds. Semi-hazy.

Smell - Sour cherry, some light graininess and a hint of cola aroma. This does come pretty close to to Cherry Cola.

Taste - Fairly tart with plenty of sour cherry. Sweet cola flavor backing it up. Flavor transitions kind of abruptly and doesn't merry together perfectly, but the illusion of a cherry cola beer is met.

Mouthfeel - Mouth puckeringly sour at times, quite fizzy, medium-light body and a bit gassy.

Overall - The execution on a cherry cola beer is delivered, but with that said, the individual pieces aren't great enough here to make me compelled to purchase another. Worth a try and for some this will be incredible, for the rest a solid cherry sour with some interesting additions.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated 04/03/2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a purplish-burgundy colour - or neon red if you hold it to a light - and is briefly capped with half a finger of fizzy, pale pink-tinged head. It's gone well within sixty seconds, leaving behind a sickly-thin collar and little else of interest. Smells like cherries, cola, and sugar - not a whole lot else, but you can tell they used real cherries, which is always nice. Maybe a hint of armpit funk as it warms.

It's unique, I'll give it that - a little more sour than I was expecting, too, but the cherry cola sweetness balances it out adequately. The cola is what I'm getting at first - sweet and fizzy, with a hint of caramel - but the cherry comes raging in not long afterwards. Tart, sweet cherry flesh by mid-sip, with sour cherry juice as well; this is followed by a soured cherry cola aftertaste that lingers on the taste buds for a second or so. Light-medium in body, with assertive carbonation that feels crisp, prickly and biting, just like the soft drink it's imitating. Slightly syrupy, at least for 4%, but it's still fairly refreshing and highly quaffable.

Final Grade: 3.88, a B+. I've been reviewing fruited sours pretty much exclusively for the last several weeks, and Autopop Cherry Cola stands out as one of the most novel of the bunch. It's a fair bit sweeter than your average kettle sour, thanks to the cola aspect, but it's also nearly puckeringly sour at times, and features a delicious, authentic cherry flavour that I really enjoyed. I'd buy this again for sure, and it's absolutely worth a try if the concept sounds at all appealing to you.
