473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 15 2024 and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy golden yellow colour, producing two fingers of fluffy, foamy white head that lasts for a little under five minutes. A sticky ring of lace is left clinging to the glass, with a soapy collar and filmy cap remaining on the surface. The fruity aroma is inviting, offering up hints of pineapple, honeydew melon, pear, peach and grapefruit, with suggestions of passion fruit and mango.
A flavourful and fruity IPA with low bitterness. Hints of bready malts and steel cut oats provide the backdrop, supporting notes of peach, pineapple, mango and melon; citrusy hints of lime and grapefruit are also discernible. A little piney and earthy on the tail end, with berries and stone fruit fading into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with average carbonation that imparts a prickly bite to this brew's otherwise smooth, fluffy mouthfeel. Good drinkability - I could enjoy a second serving, but I wouldn't want to drink this all night.
Final Grade: 4.05, an A-. A superb iteration of Entheogen, this is one hazy IPA that I would buy on the regular, if it were readily available fresh and locally. Noticeably better than the Cashmere/Galaxy/Sabro variant I tried previously - though that's not terribly surprising, because I don't much care for Sabro, whereas I like all three of the hop strains used in this edition. Recommended to any and all haze lovers - try this one if you get the chance.
