It’s true, Wrexham Lager is back. Since the sad day that it closed in 2000, we know that a lot of people have missed the original great taste of Wrexham Lager and now after 10 years absence that great taste is back.
Brewed in a brand-new micro-brewery in Wrexham, brewing the lager using the original recipe and the same ingredients combined with modern machinery to deliver Wrexham Lager as it was best loved and brewed over 100 years ago.
Brewed as the popular 4% draught lager, also brewed to Export Strength in small pack.
Contract brewed by Destihl Brewery in Illinois for the USA market.

16oz tallboy can purchased at Total Wine, in Spokane Valley, WA, for $3.99. Purchased purely because I've never seen a beer from Wales before. Canned on November 25, 2025, so not ideally fresh, but probably not too big a worry given the style.
Not going to exhaustively review this. It's a basic golden Euro lager with a large and quickly vanishing bone-white head. Smells sweet and grainy, tastes similar, and has a very soft, rather flabby mouth feel. It is decidedly bland and inoffensive and has no real value beyond it's novelty of being brewed in Wales (and even then not really; fine print reveals it was contract brewed by Destihl in Normal, IL) by a company owned by Rob McIlhenny and Ryan Reynolds.

16 ounce can, canned on 11/20/2025, USA Destihl brewed version. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours a mostly clear gold color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. Not much to the aroma, the brew smells mostly like grainy malt, along with some green apple and lemon. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some earthy hops noticeable too, and there seems to be a little more of an overall flavor kick. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. Overall I thought this was OK. Wouldn't mind trying it again in the future and worth a try if you come across some.

This was the Australian version of Wrexham Lager, brewed under licence
I ambitiously purchased a slab thinking it was brewed in Wales( which by the way I have never tried)
International beers brewed under licence to my taste buds are invariably insipid and lack any depth of flavour
I liken them to a beer cordial

Started off pretty enough, pale gold with a slight fluff of white that seemed to try to coalesce into a head but quickly surrendered. No retention.
Nose has a light melange of apple, tea leaves, light lemon and a pleasant mildly sweet grain note.
The flavor is a mild ride overall. Timidly malt forward and again some apple, very subtle lemon, and some earthy notes.
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side, carbonation too.
Overall, I could hit a few of these on a warm day but probably wouldn't cross a busy street to get one.

Poured a 500ml can into a pint glass. A two finger fine white head on a clear pale gold. The head soon diminished to a thin layer.
Grain and floral hops in the nose. A bit thin in the flavour department. Malts up front with a very mild hop finish.
Medium body and carbonation. Smooth and well balanced. Overall smooth and drinkable but unremarkable.

(review from November 2024) Tasty, well balanced lager with good mouthfeel; a bready/cereal/malty/slightly grainyish flavor and a clean, crisp, quick-fading backend. Very quaffable and refreshing. Label sez brewed & canned by Destihl Brewery, Normal, IL. ?

16oz can, painted label. Bottom stamp is 'Canned on 11/15/24'. Label has this information: "Brewed and Canned by: Destihl Brewery, Normal, IL USA".
Mostly clear, straw colored body. Two fingers of white colored, frothy head with the pour, and this retreats to a thin cap and higher ring. Leaves behind scattered lacing spots.
Aroma of bready malts and apple.
Taste is toasted bready malts, which are sweet. Other flavors of apple and a little lemon. More earthy in the aftertaste, but without a long duration of lingering flavors.
Medium mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Clean finish. Good carbonation.
Easy drinker for session work.

I grabbed four of these thinking it would be a Mexican lager, but got this instead. No worries, I thought it was pretty good. Very drinkable, tastes good, refreshing, good blend of malty body and lightly hoppy. Certainly worth a try.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, slight chill haze but clear, head is off white and presents one finger thick but dissipates very quickly to nothing.
Smell is light sweet malt, corn, adjunct, mild earthy hops.
Taste is similar with adjunct malt and lighter sweetness, mild hops, cereal.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a fuller flavored pale lager with notable adjunct character and hop notes.
