Pulled from a cask at The Mayflower Pub. Appears with classic Looks, blond, firm head, nice lace. Floral hops, but most the Smells are malt. A balanced attack, but by mid-palate a citrus rind bitter took over and this made it not a good choice to have with my vegetarian Wellington and Yorkshire Pudding. LPA, I'm learning, is more of session ale or with snacks. This LPA did not help a nice meal.
My first from Southwark, they seem to be among those micros who are a decade or less old who have settled in as a brewing culture known as the Bermondsey Dive, nestled under the tracks in the approach to Long Bridge Station. All good to have a concentration of micros. Southwark's description of how they grew is particularly entertaining. And for all that culture, I give them pretty good Overall Hugs. Cheers !

A smoke bomb - overwhelming smokiness on the tongue. Pale yellow with a soapy white head when served without a sparkler - when attempted with a sparkler it's half-head. Floral hops on nose and taste - and not much else. But it's done very well, and exemplifies an elevated newer style pale ale.

At the brewery. Clear amber color with a thin head but leaving good laces.
Aroma with notes of honey, malt juice and subtle citrusy.
Flavor with notes of orange and lemon citrusy, honey, malt juice, some pineapple and lemongrass. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with cask like carbonation (well l this is cask...).
Mild but still pleasant English Pale Ale with citrusy notes.
