A big, fluffy white head reaches two inches before quickly fading to a thin veil. No lace is left on the Pilsner glass and the beer itself is almost clear, straw gold with a chill haze.
The aroma is flowery, like honeysuckle, with delicate grains and light lime.
This beer is crisp and clean, lightly sweet, with even lighter tartness. The finish is long and mildly tart. This beer ends dry with light lemon in between and warms well, especially for a Pilsner.
The body is light with a smooth metallic texture. There is a touch of alcohol and modest, prickly carbonation. Padrig is extremely refreshing.
While technically off style, this is a very interesting and enjoyable beer. It works well on a hot, or a mild, August afternoon and would certainly aid relaxation with or without conversation. I can imagine it pairing well with shellfish. As with other beers from Gael Brewing, this was an unexpected delight.
