A slightly tart blend featuring oak and ember aromas overlying crisp orchard flavours of fresh hay and apple from a year-long stay in whiskey, bourbon, madiera and rum barrels.
LOST YEAR SERIES: The year 2020 was the lost year; rare are the things which emerged better at the end than at the beginning. These four ales, laid down through all of 2020, are among those scarce exceptions. Hand blended and bottle-conditioned in 2021, they offer an inimitable taste of what might have been.

500 ml light green wax capped bottle, no dating on it but I'm pretty sure this was an early 2021 release. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stuck around a while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like apple, rum, whisky, oak, vanilla and pear. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some orange peel, caramel and grassy flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's easy enough to drink but also a has a high amount of soft carbonation. Wish the carb level was lower. Overall though I liked this, think it might be my favorite out of the Lost Year Series brews!
