Vanilla Milk Stout

Poured from 64oz growler into glass. Brewer's notes, "Rich Stout with Unfermentable Lactose/Milk Sugar and Whole Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans." 5.7% ABV.
Very dark body with no light seen coming through. Thin tan cap, and lots of lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malt and sweeter vanilla.
Taste is straightforward milk stout with vanilla. Sweet from the lactose, with dark roasted malt backbone.
Medium creamy mouth feel.
Well done and fresh as all Birch's beers have been.

 

 

 

Brewed with vanilla and milk sugars. The vanilla is subtle but definitely noticeable. It complements the chocolate and creamy notes of the stout. Wonderful luscious texture which was the highlight.
