750ml bottle. The bottle cap is marked '2016'.
Ruby brown colored body. Thin light tan head, which dissipates to a bubble fed ring. No lacing.
Aroma of sour cherries, red wine barrel, and a touch of funk.
Taste is sour. Has sour cherries, chocolate, red wine, and a bit of funk. Quite dry at the finish.
Medium plus mouth feel, with quite a smooth texture. Causes mouth puckering. Very good carbonation.
Very tasty Flanders Oud Bruin, quite of chewy, and quite sour. Well done.

This beer is far from a beer that would appeal to Birch's usual customers that demand fruited kettle sours and blonde ales. This is a dynamic, wonderfully complex sour beer. This blows anything I have had from Wild Mind completely out of the water. Reminds me of a funkier Monk's Cafe which I am sure was the inspiration for this beer. Cherry adds nice flavor and a bit of tartness but it is not trying to be anything more than a compliment to the base beer. It is a little bit sweeter than what I prefer, and the funky finish is a bit ruined by the wine barrel which disperses the funky love fest.
