Brewed again in November, 2017. This time it has an ABV of 9.6%. Poured into Aslin anniversary glass.
L: 2F hit with modest retention. Spotty light tan lacing with a thin cap and ring. Beer is a very dark brown, only lighter on edges when help up to light.
S: Caramel malts, molasses, and pecans. Definitely signals to be on the sweet side.
T: Mixture of caramel and more bitter malts. Pecans. Not as sweet as nose indicates. Not much evidence of alcohol on finish, just a little bit.
F: Medium, but a bit watery, mild carbonation. Construction and balance are OK, but could be better. Definitely not a quick drinker.
O: Interesting winter/seasonal beer. Not sure I would want it very often.
