Thanks to Yulles, as fine a human being as walks in beer circles, for grabbing me a few Aslin cans during our trip to D.C. Having had the very good SingleCut version on tap, expectations are high.16 oz. can split with my wife.
The pour takes a while, as white head spills everywhere (you should see my mirror) & it takes a while for it to settle. Smells like melon, tangerine, with a bit of sharp, tart lemon.
Is This Real Life? isn’t wild at all, either microbial (that I can sense) or in the bungee-jumping sense. What it is is a pineapple IPA. Pineapple, mango, tangerine, all the fruits, backed up with a low-to-moderate bitterness quotient that seems the norm in these juice IEDs. Mid-palate brings an almost honey-like sweetness, along with lower doses of lemon zest & amber waves of grain. Almost creamy, which lends to a pleasant, frequent hand movements towards my rapidly emptying glass.
My first Aslin beer has left me satisfied if not awed. Very good IPA.

Smell: really earthy and grassy definitely get the pineapple lemon zest tangerine.
Taste: initially I notice this beer is over carbonated this beer has a lemon lime thing going on upfront that transitions to pineapple mango and a
Little bit of tangerine peel In the
Mid palte along with some crackery malt sweetness the beer finishes earthy and sweet with a moderate grapefruit bitterness.
Feel: like I said the beer is over carbonatied full body spritsy on the tongue. But the carbonation takes away from the beer some.
Overall: Probably the worst beer I've had from Aslin. Every beer you make can't be a hit I guess.
