Appearance - Pours black with cola brown edging where light can penetrate and a tan, near finger width head that fizzes away quickly like soda, leaving behind a mostly barren surface with a few suds clinging to the edges. No lacing.
Smell - The aroma is strong with hazelnut and chocolate, with hints of coffee roast just beneath.
Taste - Follows the nose. Hazelnut and milk chocolate are the predominant flavors here. Hints of coffee roast come through at a distance. The finish is sweet with milk chocolate notes and lingering hazelnut. The sweetness can get a bit cloying.
Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Slick, somewhat soda-like texture. Drinks easy enough.
Overall - Pretty good hazelnut coffee stout, but it does have some downside. The texture isn't all that great. A bit more coffee roast to balance out the sweetness also would've been nice. As is, it makes for a fine after-dinner desert brew or a mid-morning gameday option, but this isn't something I'd drink often.

Pours a pitch black coloration with a medium, foamy head. Smells intensely of roasted malt and coffee, with a hint of dark chocolate, hazelnut and lactose coming through. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by roasted malt and coffee notes, with just a hint of dark, bitter chocolate, lactose and a certainy nutty quality coming through. Quite dry, with a light, bittersweet aftertaste. Kind of light body with a medium carbonation. Even though I am admittedly not a fan of the style, this is a pretty good milk stout, Not as sweet and lactose-dominated as others, with a really nice coffee and slight dark chocolate note, while still maintaining that slightly sweet and tart lactose note.

Can dated 7/25:
Pours fairly thick looking from the can, generating a faint tan head that fizzles away like many HNBC variants. A thin ring lasts at least.
Nose is amazingly coffee forward. The hazelnut grabs the edges. If you want a coffee instead of beer, your nose would totally trick you into this alcoholic malt beverage.
The "milk" stout was missing in the nose, and it barely makes an appearance as the lightest tang underneath the beer's main flavors. Coffee is strong but not as deep roast as the nose indicates. The feel is quite thin, even at 6%. The taste ends up as a watered down hazelnut coffee. The nut actually lingers more, though is more subtle than the even weakened coffee.
My favorite variant so far, driven highly by the nose. The quite tasty flavor survives a light, weakening feel.
