16 oz can poured into a teku
A- A hazy orange copper with a two finger white head
S- Citrus, some pine, dark chocolate, some roasted coffee. Not bad, but the hops and chocolate just seem to be working against each other.
T- Citrus, grapefruit, touch or tropical fruits, some dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Flavors are coming together more than they did in the nose.
M- Smooth, medium body, slightly creamy.
O- Could be more balanced, but it’s is growing on me. Regular Orange Starfish is definitely better.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Turbid and murky dull yellow and brown, opaque but not totally frozen in appearance. Creamy and easy forming three finger white head with a small top, a bit of ring and pill like lacing matches up on top.
Aroma is a bit unexpected. Minimal hop presence, and more of a toasted walnut smell coming off the beer. Touches of faint chocolate, but more of a roasty nut than anything. Very odd.
Palate while passable and good is a bit quizical. Tannic to very dry husky chocolate sensations, mixing with a small bit of orange. Creamy sensing citrus with large amounts of juicy qualities and mellow hop. Soft bodied, with chewy classic quality, and some lingering sweetness comes out after some time to bring some more milky chocolate flavors.
Not bad, but the addition of chocolate just doesn't seem like a good one and doesn't seem to be thought through. I love the combination of chocolate and orange, but this doesn't even taste so much or work in this brew, and just seems very random.

Turbid straw to light orange with a bit of head
Nose is strong chocolate with a minor bit of malty sweetness
Taste is orange Starfish accented by chocolate in the background. Citrus, hops, malt throughout.
Mouthful is medium, carbonation is average, finish is a touch dry.
The chocolate version is a nice variant of OS. The chocolate is strongest on the nose and is balanced with the citrus elements. Would recommend letting it warm a touch.
