Another beast from my BIF Box from Ian Sherman this monster weighs in at 15% from Aslin Beer Company. Brewed with Pecan, cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla, and graham cracker. Pours black as midnight, with a massive 3 plus finger mocha head that leaves a ton of thin wisps of lace behind, as it slowly settles into a thin layer of brown bubbles, the retention at this high of ABV is amazing! 5

Smell vanilla beans and graham cracker stand out most, getting some pecan, cocoa, and toffee also really bold and pleasant. 4.5

Taste follows vanilla and graham cracker are right upfront, with toffee, pecan, some cinnamon comes in with the flavor, but well balanced and some cocoa nibs. 4.5

Mouthfeel is massive, fairly gentle carbonation, a tad on the dry side, and at 15% ABV goes down very easy because the alcohol is barely noticed as you sip it. 4.5

Overall this is an exceptional Goliath of a Imperial Stout that is so approachable and easy sipping for its massive girth, really an impressive stout. 4.5

My second Aslin stout and it’s amazing. The right amount of Cinnamon here which is easy to overdo in my opinion. The vanilla notes come through the most next. The remaining adjuncts add a nice touch and uniqueness. The mouthfeel is perfect. I love the super thick motor oil feel. I bet the can is 800 calories and it’s worth every one. Don’t miss this one!

Looks good with a pitch black color and a 1 finger beige colored head that faded slowly and left minimal spotty lacing. Smells like maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, cinnamon, graham cracker, chocolate and nice nutty notes which showcase the pecans. Flavor has all the same components as the nose, with delicious malty and chocolate notes, mild vanilla, nutty flavors and rich malty notes. Another stellar stout by Aslin.

The beer pours a very light and bubbly head that is barely created and dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a dark chocolate black with a syrupy texture to to it. It looks pretty nice.

The smell is pretty good. It is heavy on the pecan mixed in with the cinnamon but the honey graham crackers manage to come out rather well. The cocoa is fairly well hidden but peeks out a little bit in the finish.

The taste is absolutely delicious. It has a wonderful mixture of bittersweet sweetness with a good honeyed graham cracker note to it in the finish as well. The pecans are much more subdued than in the smell and the cocoa is more prominent than the other notes with a moderate bitterness. The cinnamon and brown sugar hover around the edges adding an indulgent sugar note to everything.

The feel is good. It's a thin feeling beer with a heavy and slightly syrupy body to it.The carbonation is pretty light with a tiny bite to it.

Overall, a pretty good and indulgent beer that is worth trading for.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a snifter.
L- Poured a dark brown with a slight tan head that dissipates quickly.
S - Smells of chocolate and vanilla.
T - Getting chocolate, vanilla and pecan pie. Really tasty.
F - Full body with minimal carbonation. Nice soft feel, I'm guessing that's from the lactose.
O - Delicious sweet stout that hides the 15% ABV nicely.
