Hazy, orange with a fluffy, sticky, off white head. Smells like orange mango juice with a lot of sweetness, pepper and hops in the nose. Thick , creamy and sweet with a lot of citrus and peppery mango. Nice bitterness at the end balances it out. Very nice beer.

Can - at least a month old:
A highly opaque dull orange yellow, but with a very nice off-white head that has a bit of stickiness to it if the side of the glass is an indicator.
Nose is overripe tropical fruit with a nice splash of fresh orange juice - and a rustic oat-like scent on the edge.
Taste is similar, but the full body actually brings its own qualities to the flavor. The oat or wheat additions play in early with the fairly typical tropical orange blend smoothy. The feel of this is decent, especially at hiding the 12% ABV. Overall, though, there's nothing about this beer that differentiates is from the numerous other beers like it, including those produce by the local side of this collaboration. It's a solid offering for the style they produce, but it doesn't stand out.

Appearance: Pours cloudy and orange colored with a persistent one-finger head; shards of lacing
Smell: Kumquat and blood orange, with undertones of apricot and nectarine
Taste: Kumquat and bitter blood orange forward, with the apricot and nectarine undertones building; increasingly bitter pith tones, through the middle, as the alcohol builds massively toward the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied and creamy, with moderate carbonation
Overall: Tossing drinkability to the wind, the brewers at Aslin and Heist have made a boozy bitter bomb of a beer; the attractiveness of the NE IPA style is its juicy approachability; amp up the bitterness and the alcohol too much and you destroy what makes the style enjoyable

These fruit bombs look like smoothies, not beer. Ever see Lethal Weapon? "I am too old for this shit." It smelled sweet and tasted oh so good. It was like a peach shake. Then, the alcohol hit me like a battle axe. It is a TIPA, afterall. Overall, a fantastic ale, but I am unsure how to drink around it.
